Little Learners preschool is ‘A place for children to blossom’. Children, staff, and families feel a sense of belonging and find long-lasting friendships. Little Learners preschool provides a community place where each member is valued as a unique individual, in a culture of respect. Our teaching staff is well known for its empathetic, warm, and encouraging learning environment. Little Learners preschool believes that every child has the right to learn, and provide support, assistance, and resources for children who require support.
It has been identified that the early years from 1.5 – 6 yrs are one of the most important times for brain development and learning in a child. It has been proven by experts’ world over repeatedly that the capacity for a child to absorb concepts and learn is the highest during these years of a human being’s life. So, it is very necessary to identify areas of development that need to be focused on during these years of the child’s development and ensure that the same is imparted effectively to the child. Blackboard learning and learning by rote does not work during these years. The child learns through experience and repeatedly performing activities that interest him/her.
We believe that children learn through play and self-discovery. Activities are planned based on the stage of development the children have reached and what activities they are interested in. Wherever possible, we aim to be flexible and responsive to babies’ home routines and individual needs. When you first bring your baby, the pre-school staff will discuss the baby’s routine including sleeping and eating with you and negotiate the best routine within the structure of the pre-school. As your child becomes a toddler, we offer a wider range of activities, paint, malleable materials, fine motor, and gross motor activities, indoor play, stories, music and role-play. The day is more structured but children are still allowed to make choices based on the activities offered in a certain area.
